Search our database of properties to find available vacant land, homes and assembled development sites owned by public entities including the City of Pittsburgh and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA). You may find small lots, homes, commercial sites and greening opportunities in your community.

Only properties within City limits are listed here. In order to purchase a publicly owned property, you must be a "qualified buyer". That means you are current on all City and School taxes, water and sewer charges, and free from building violations on any property that you own within the City of Pittsburgh.

Each agency has different polices for purchasing property. Once you have found property you are interested in purchasing, check the "view" link and find the property owner. Then refer to the corresponding link on the “How to Buy” section on the left side of the page. This will guide you through that agencies purchase process.

Various tax abatement programs are available for both commercial and residential renovation and redevelopment projects, including Mayor Luke Ravenstahl’s 10-year Residential Tax Exemption Program, for the renovation of residential units in select neighborhoods. Abatement of City, County and School taxes may be made available for your project based on project type and location. Staff at the URA can assist you in making application for the product that applies to your project. More information about Tax Abatement is available here.

The URA also offers a variety of programs and financing products that range from assisting low income clients achieve homeownership to backing large-scale commercial redevelopment projects. Learn more about URA programs here.
